This year, the 5th iteration of the Bangladesh Premier League marked the debut of a new franchise called Sylhet Sixers. Chief Patron, Honorable Finance Minister Abulmaal Abdul Muhith and Chairman Shahed Muhith launched the team in Sylhet.
The Sixers needed to be titled as a brand and it needed an identity. We developed a brand guideline and identity to maintain coherence across all touch-points and to set it apart from the other teams on the list.
From the lush greens of the Sylheti tea gardens and the blues flowing from the river Surma, the team naturally opted for the colors Green and Blue. Based on that we designed and developed the Sixers team jerseys. A simple and minimalistic design with hand drawn tea leafs incorporated onto the shirts, complimented by the players that wore them, won the hearts of many fans.
Seeking sponsors was made easy, when the brand we built became a strong powerhouse on a variety of media channels. Through different stages we helped the Sixers lock sponsors from top brands like EHL, Walton, Microsoft, Bengal Group, WE Phone and many others.
We organized a social campaign to find the top 10 young bowlers in Bangladesh established through a bowling hunt campaign - The Future Sixers. With the help of massive promotions through digital media, press, leaflets, billboards, television advertisements, we organized a 3-day activation campaign in 4 different districts. We hosted over 4,000 contestants from all over Bangladesh who registered through our online portal and our kiosk registration points in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Hobiganj and Sunamganj. With the help of international cricket legend Waqar Younis, we picked the best 10 bowlers. To award the best bowlers we held a prize giving ceremony at the Sylhet Zilla Stadium. Just to spice things up, the night ended with beautiful fireworks!
The best way to create brand awareness is through advertising. Sylhet Sixers did a lot of it. Starting from highlighting the players to promoting campaigns, we created AVs and static visual based ads across a variety of channels.
Strategic partnerships meant a big deal to Sylhet Sixers. We became the bridge to a fruitful partnership with Uber and Apex.
Uber became the internal transport partner for Sylhet Sixers. With the help of some of the star players they launched their new product, Uber Premier.
Apex opened their doors to sell all official Sylhet Sixers merchandise in Dhaka and Sylhet.
We designed and developed a variety of merchandise with the Sylhet Sixers branding, in the likes of wristbands, t-shirts, keyrings, hats, balls, toys, button badges and many more.
And boy, were they in demand!
